  • The Humboldt Wildlife Federation was founded in 1947, as a branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, a non profit non government charitable organization of conservation minded individuals. We are part of an organization that consists of approximately 33,000 members in 122 branches across the province. Our current membership stands at approximately 350, last year we had just over 500 members. Most of our members are from Humboldt and the immediate surrounding area but we have members spread out from Lake Lenore to Lockwood and Watson to Plunkett as well as a few members from Saskatoon. We are the organization responsible for the creation of the nature trail that goes from behind Canadian Tire to the antiques club that a lot of Humboldt residents use.

We recently brought the National Archery in the Schools program, an inclusive archery program for all physical abilities into the Humboldt Public and St Dominic Schools. It teaches participants the importance of learning a lifelong skill with the emphasis on the process rather than the results in a fun and safe environment. We have also rebuilt and reopened our certified gun range. It is certified for .22 rimfire, centerfire rifle in the 308 category and handgun in the 357 magnum category. Plans for single station shotgun shooting certification are in the works. We also plan to get our clubhouse put back on a floor this year so it is useable again. Cost for the use of the range and a Humboldt Wildlife Federation membership are very competitive in nature.

We meet monthly, usually the second Tuesday of the month, in the Boardroom of the Pioneer Motel.
